OK, so here is the deal....
ALS ice bucket challenge from the ladies lacrosse team. We are accepting the challenge.
The challenge will be filmed at the lax throwing wall and all participants are asked to be there by 3:45 so that we can film it by 4:00.
Be there if you can. If you can't, we understand (but the more, the better). Coaches are coming to get wet/cold too!
If you have a 3-5 gallon bucket at home, bring it. I got 15 from Home Depot and rumor has it that they will "loan" them also (I purchased these). Maybe a parent can run by there tomorrow and see if they will "loan" 15 more?
Also bring a change of clothes and a towel.
Please let others know since this is not the "full" email list and no freshmen are on it. However, any freshman that played for TYL/JTL last year and plans to tryout this year is also welcome to come participate.
We are asking that all participants bring $5-20 to donate but you may bring more (as Coach Ferraro "challenged" you and your families to match his donation), or you may forgo the donation and just get wet (although we highly encourage the donation; even if only a small amount).
We will get ice out of the concession stand (field house or cafeteria if needed) and fill the buckets using the spigot outside the concession on the wall side.
I will cover "how" we are going to "dump" the buckets once we have everyone there.
We will need to make a brief statement about accepting the challenge, making our donation, and then challenge 3 others. I need you guys to think about who to challenge!
I was thinking Walton, another Lassiter team (girls soccer and Coach Galvin?), and one other person or group.
If anyone can make a sign (poster board size) that states "Lassiter Men's Lacrosse accepts the Lassiter Ladies Lacrosse ALS ice bucket challenge" along with the ALSA.org website on it, that would be extremely helpful!
I need everyone participating to wear a cardinal (Lassiter or Trojan) reversible. I have a couple in my room that I will bring too. Freshman can wear a youth pinnie (just make sure it is a Lassiter or Trojan one) or one that I bring (although seniority 1st).
This is going to be our 1st "team bonding" event (ha ha), so get psyched and let's go "big" and show them what Lassiter Lacrosse is all about!!!
One other thing...
I also need someone to video this tomorrow and upload it to youtube!
Please let me know if you are willing and able.
"I also challenge the group (boys) and the families to match my contribution to ALS for $100. This is a disease that needs help in finding a cure. Let's make this happen in our / your life time!"
